Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Strapi Import / Export Suite

Import and export your Strapi v5 content with CSV, JSON and Excel — including the hard parts other tools get wrong: deep & circular relations, components, dynamic zones, media, Draft & Publish and i18n. Built for v4 → v5 migrations, where data integrity is everything.

Free core for everyday import/export. A Pro license unlocks Excel, multi-collection migration, scheduled exports and advanced filters.

Why this plugin

Most import/export tools flatten your data: they lose relations, drop component fields, or only keep the published version. This plugin uses a two-pass relation resolver (create everything, then link) so even circular relations (product → related product) survive a full round-trip — export from one project, import into another, zero data loss.

Features

| | Free | Pro | |---|:---:|:---:| | CSV & JSON import/export | ✅ | ✅ | | Simple fields, enums, UID, dates | ✅ | ✅ | | First-level relations (by documentId) | ✅ | ✅ | | Deep & circular relations | ✅ | ✅ | | Components & dynamic zones | ✅ | ✅ | | Media (match by hash, re-upload if missing) | ✅ | ✅ | | Draft & Publish (both states) | ✅ | ✅ | | i18n (all locales) | ✅ | ✅ | | Row-by-row error report | ✅ | ✅ | | Background jobs + history | ✅ | ✅ | | Excel (.xlsx) | — | ✅ | | Multi-collection migration (one bundle) | — | ✅ | | Scheduled exports (daily/weekly/monthly) | — | ✅ | | Advanced export filters | — | ✅ |

Requirements

  • Strapi v5 (@strapi/strapi >= 5.0.0)
  • Node.js 18.17+

Database support

Works with any database Strapi v5 supports — the plugin uses only the Document Service API (no raw SQL). Verified on PostgreSQL and SQLite. MySQL runs on the same database-agnostic code path but isn't formally tested yet — feedback from MySQL users is very welcome.

Install

npm install strapi-plugin-import-export-suite
# or
yarn add strapi-plugin-import-export-suite

Rebuild the admin and start Strapi:

npm run build && npm run develop

The plugin auto-enables. You'll find:

  • Export / Import buttons in the Content Manager list view of every collection.
  • An Import / Export page in the main menu (job history, scheduled exports, license).

Usage

  • Export: open a collection → Export → pick format (JSON/CSV/Excel), fields and filters → download when ready.
  • Import: Import → upload a file → map columns to fields → run. You get a created/updated/failed report with a downloadable error CSV.
  • Migrate between projects: export from project A, import into project B — relations are re-linked automatically by documentId.

Activate Pro

Buy a license, then open the Import / Export page → paste your key in the License card → Activate. Pro features unlock immediately. Keys are verified offline (Ed25519) and are perpetual.

Permissions (RBAC)

Export and Import are separate permission actions — grant them per role under Settings → Roles → Plugins.

License

MIT for the core. Pro features require a valid license key to use in production.

Built for agencies migrating Strapi v4 → v5. Issues and feedback welcome.
