Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

StretchShop

StretchShop is an open-source e-commerce REST API (with a compiled Vue SPA in public/). It is built for shops that want control over design, catalog, checkout, and deployment — without starting from a blank framework.

It runs on Node.js and the Moleculer microservices framework, so the same codebase can run as a monolith or as split services (Docker compose layouts under docker/).

Quick start

Three install paths — pick the one that matches how you want to work:

  1. npm — your own project. Fastest way to get a development shop with demo data.
  2. Docker — compose stacks (monolith, micro, or mixed) for a containerized demo or production-shaped layout.
  3. Git — this repository, for contributors and anyone who wants the source.

MongoDB 7 must be running (MONGO_URI, default mongodb://localhost:27017/stretchshop_demo).

The Vue source is not in this repo. Customize UI in stretchshop-front-vue and copy the production build into public/app/.
