sylo-reddit

Read-only Reddit access for Sylo/Pi via old.reddit.com HTML (no credentials needed) — as an individual, self-contained pi package (one repo = one npm package).

Reddit closed self-service OAuth app creation (Responsible Builder Policy), so this package ships no OAuth settings and no API-tier access — only public HTML reads.

• Works on vanilla Pi and inside Sylo (where it adds a small Sylo-only host plugin)

Install

pi install npm:sylo-reddit

In Sylo: Capability manager → Pi.dev package catalog (or Install by exact spec → npm:sylo-reddit), then Restart broker. No config file required.

Scores and comment counts are best-effort; comment coverage is limited to one page.

Sylo-only extras (inert on vanilla Pi)

This package carries a pi.sylo manifest block. Vanilla Pi ignores it completely. Inside Sylo, the host-plugin loader loads host/index.js, which provides:

• reddit.ping RPC op — reports { ok, plugin: 'sylo-reddit', version }.

No credentials, no personal data, and nothing here publishes any operator data.
