Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

What the fuck?!

It's a tool I made mainly to symlink away shit from Dropbox (since Dropbox doesn't upload the contents of symlinks).

By default it will recursively scan the current directory and symlink any node_modules out of there.

The symlinked content is placed under /home-folder/.slia/original-path-relative-to-home-folder.

To symlink away anything else just specify the path to the file or the directory to symlink away. Do it again to undo.

How to fucking use?!

Install globally to run it like symlink-it-away from anywhere:

npm install --global symlink-it-away

Or just use npx symlink-it-away to run it.

That's it bitches!
