Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

TypeScript SDK for the Salesforce Tableau Next REST API (/services/data/v*/tableau/*)

Readme

tableau-next-sdk

TypeScript SDK for the Salesforce Tableau Next REST API — the /services/data/v{n}/tableau/* surface (visualizations, dashboards, workspaces, assets, followers, marketplace, personal orgs, record shares, subscription digests).

A thin, hand-written resource layer over a generated wrapper around the OpenAPI spec: openapi-typescript emits the type surface, generate-services emits one base service per spec tag, src/resources/* adds ergonomic extensions, and TableauNextClient composes them. Same architecture as data-360-sdk.

Scope

This SDK covers the /tableau/* path family only (API version v67+ — versions below v66 return DOWNGRADE_VERSION_ERROR).

Semantic models are out of scope. They live under a different namespace (/ssot/semantic/models, v64), not /tableau/*, so they are not part of this package.

Quick start

import { TableauNextClient } from "tableau-next-sdk";

const client = new TableauNextClient({
  instanceUrl: "https://my.salesforce.com/services/data/v67.0",
  auth: { type: "static", accessToken: process.env.SF_ACCESS_TOKEN! },
});

// Visualizations
const viz = await client.visualizations.get("My_Visualization");
for await (const v of client.visualizations.listAll()) {
  // ...
}

// Dashboards
await client.dashboards.update("My_Dashboard", dashboardBody);

Services

| Accessor | Path family | |---|---| | client.visualizations | /tableau/visualizations | | client.dashboards | /tableau/dashboards | | client.workspaces | /tableau/workspaces | | client.assets | /tableau/assets | | client.followers | /tableau/follow | | client.marketplace | /tableau/marketplace | | client.personalOrgs | /tableau/personal-orgs | | client.records | /tableau/records | | client.subscriptions | /tableau/subscriptions |

Each accessor exposes generated CRUD methods plus listAll async iterators for collection endpoints. visualizations and dashboards add an ergonomic update alias and document the request-shape rules the raw types don't capture.

Development

npm install
npm run generate # emits src/generated/* + src/schemas.ts from the spec
npm run build
npm test
npm run typecheck

See BUILD_PLAN.md for scope, locked decisions, and the live-verified contract facts behind the resource layer. The codegen harness is documented in scripts/README.md.
