Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

tanbal-persian-date

v1.0.1

Published

A JavaScript library for working with Persian dates

Readme

Persian Date

A JavaScript library for working with Persian (Jalali) dates.

Installation

npm install tanbal-persian-date

Usage

import PersianDate from 'tanbal-persian-date';

const date = new PersianDate(1405, 7, 3);

console.log(date.toDate());
// 1405-07-03

console.log(date.toPersianString(true));
// 3 مهر 1405

Features

Date Navigation

Move forward or backward by day, week, month, or year:

date.nextDay();
date.nextWeek();
date.nextMonth();
date.nextYear();

date.previousDay();
date.previousWeek();
date.previousMonth();
date.previousYear();

You can also use next() and previous() with a unit and count:

date.next(unit); // day | week | month | year
date.previous(unit); // day | week | month | year
date.next('day', 5);
date.previous('month', 2);

Get Dates

Get dates for a day, week, month, or year:

date.getWeekDays();
date.getMonthDays();
date.getYearDays();
date.get(unit); // day | week | month | year

Get consecutive dates before or after the current date:

date.get('next'); // Tomorrow
date.get('previous'); // Yesterday
date.get('next', 3);
date.get('previous', 3);

For example:

date.get('next', 3);

returns the next three dates, starting from tomorrow.

Start & End of Units

Get the beginning or end of a week, month, or year:

date.startOf(unit); // week | month | year
date.endOf(unit); // week | month | year

Date Comparison

Compare Persian dates:

date.isBefore(otherDate);
date.isAfter(otherDate);
date.isSame(otherDate);

date.isToday();
date.isBeforeToday();
date.isAfterToday();

You can also calculate the difference between two dates:

date.diff(otherDate);

Date Output

Convert a date to a standard date string:

date.toDate();
// 1405-07-03

A custom separator can also be used:

date.toDate('/');
// 1405/07/03

Get a human-readable Persian date:

date.toPersianString();
// 3 مهر

date.toPersianString(true);
// 3 مهر 1405

toString() returns the same output as toDate():

date.toString();
// 1405-07-03

Static Methods

Get today's Persian date:

const today = PersianDate.today();

Parse a date string:

const date = PersianDate.parseDate('1405-07-03');

A custom separator can also be used:

const date = PersianDate.parseDate('1405/07/03', '/');

Named Exports

The library also exports Persian weekday and month names:

import PersianDate, {
    weekDays,
    persianMonths
} from 'tanbal-persian-date';
