Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

TDocs7

MCP Server for intelligent documentation search with RAG-like strategy.

What does it do?

TDocs7 is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that allows AI assistants (like Claude) to intelligently search your documentation.

  • Loads documentation from a configured URL
  • Splits content into semantic chunks
  • Searches and ranks the most relevant excerpts
  • Returns formatted results to the assistant

Installation

Via npx (recommended)

No installation required. Configure directly in your MCP client.

Via npm (global)

npm install -g tdocs7

search_docs

Searches for information in the configured documentation.

Parameters:

  • search (string, required): Term or phrase to search
  • max_results (number, optional): Number of excerpts to return (1-10)
