Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

telemio

v0.1.7

Published

Telemio setup CLI for OpenTelemetry, browser RUM, Prometheus, StatsD, and coding-agent instrumentation.

Readme

Telemio CLI

Telemio is an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform for applications, infrastructure, browser and mobile experiences, and AI agents.

This npm package is intentionally limited to the public setup CLI. The Telemio service runtime, internal APIs, deployment configuration, infrastructure details, private operational tooling, and application source are not distributed in the npm artifact.

Install

Canonical package:

npm install --global @wundercorp/telemio

Compatibility package:

npm install --global telemio

Both packages expose the same executable:

telemio --help

Detect and configure a repository

telemio detect
telemio setup auto

The CLI can print setup guidance for Node.js, Python, Java/JVM, .NET, PHP, Ruby, Go, Rust, Swift/iOS, Android/Kotlin, Collector, Kubernetes, Lambda, edge runtimes, messaging, agentic runtimes, desktop applications, GPU/inference systems, and profiles.

OpenTelemetry setup

telemio setup otel --service checkout-api
telemio setup collector
telemio setup kubernetes

Use --endpoint when the OTLP endpoint differs from the hosted or local environment you are configuring.

Browser and distributed clients

telemio setup rum --app storefront

Browser, mobile, React Native, and desktop clients should use client-safe ingest credentials or a trusted Collector/gateway. Never embed a privileged server API key in distributed software.

Prometheus setup

telemio setup prometheus

StatsD setup

telemio setup statsd

JavaScript/TypeScript SDK

For explicit business, agent, feature-flag, experiment, or application context in trusted JavaScript/TypeScript runtimes:

npm install @telemio/sdk

OpenTelemetry remains the default instrumentation layer; the SDK adds Telemio-specific context where it helps.

Coding agents and agent runtimes

Auto-detect supported local harnesses:

telemio detect agents
telemio setup agent auto

Generate runtime-specific telemetry setup for Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Hermes Agent, Loki Agent, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Cursor, OpenCode, or Windsurf:

telemio setup agent claude-code
telemio setup agent codex
telemio setup agent hermes
telemio setup agent loki
telemio setup agent gemini
telemio setup agent copilot

Native OTLP exporters are preferred when the harness provides them. Hook adapters are used as an enrichment/fallback path, and prompt/response/tool content remains disabled by default.

For a repository-wide coding-agent setup prompt:

telemio agent-prompt

The generated prompt asks a coding agent to detect runtime boundaries, prefer standard OpenTelemetry instrumentation, correlate signals, add browser/mobile/agent telemetry where appropriate, keep AI capture metadata-first, redact sensitive data, and verify the resulting changes.

Runtime sessions

Create bounded runtime sessions for services, workers, agents, VMs, jobs, browser automation, mobile/desktop applications, serverless execution, and workflows:

telemio runtime start --kind worker --provider my-platform --external-id "$JOB_ID"
telemio runtime list
telemio runtime link rt_...
telemio runtime end rt_...

runtime start returns a short-lived ingest token and a direct console.telemio.sh/runtimes/... link. Use --json when another application needs to consume the runtime ID, token, or console URL programmatically. Distributed browser/mobile/desktop applications should bootstrap runtime sessions with client-safe ingest keys rather than privileged server credentials.

Runtime requirements

Node.js 20.19 or newer.

Package boundary

The published npm package contains a minified dist/telemio.mjs executable, this README, the license, and package metadata. Source modules, backend/server code, internal API documentation, deployment scripts, infrastructure configuration, tests, and repository documentation are excluded from the public npm package.
