Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Production-grade Playwright & Chromium browser automation and stealth runtime optimizer for Android Termux.
Dual-Engine Python & Node.js · Non-Root Bionic Execution · Kernel ProcessReaper · Direct Socket VPN Bypass-Tunnel

⚡ Quickstart

🐍 Python Installation & Setup (PyPI)

# In Android Termux:
pkg update && pkg install -y python chromium nodejs
pip install termux-playwright
termux-playwright-install

☕ Node.js / JavaScript Installation (npm)

npm install -g termux-playwright
npx termux-playwright install

🌐 What's New in v1.81.0: Direct Socket DNS Bypass-Tunnel

On Android 14~16 devices running active VPN connections (Tailscale, WireGuard, AdGuard), system DNS lookups via Android dnsproxyd can hang or deadlock on internal gateway IPs (100.100.100.100).

termux-playwright v1.81.0 introduces an RFC 1035 Direct Socket UDP Resolver paired with an In-Process Loopback HTTP CONNECT Proxy (127.0.0.1:<dynamic_port>) that queries public DNS (default 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1) directly, completely bypassing the OS virtual network interface and eliminating VPN timeouts.

🐍 Python SDK Example (BrowserBuilder)

import asyncio
from termux_playwright import BrowserBuilder

async def main():
    # Launch Chromium with Direct Socket Bypass-Tunnel
    browser = await (BrowserBuilder()
        .headless(True)
        .bypass_tunnel(True, dns="8.8.8.8")
        .launch())

    page = await browser.new_page()
    await page.goto("https://www.naver.com", timeout=30000)
    print("Page Title:", await page.title())
    await browser.close()

asyncio.run(main())

☕ Node.js SDK Example (BrowserBuilder)

const { BrowserBuilder } = require('termux-playwright');

async function main() {
    const browser = await new BrowserBuilder()
        .headless(true)
        .bypassTunnel(true, '8.8.8.8')
        .launch();

    const page = await browser.newPage();
    await page.goto('https://www.naver.com', { timeout: 30000 });
    console.log('Page Title:', await page.title());
    await browser.close();
}

main().catch(console.error);
