Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

An Office document editor plugin for TINKER, powered by the local OnlyOffice stack from onlyoffice-web-local.

Word / Excel / PowerPoint — open and edit .docx, .xlsx, .pptx and related Office formats
New documents — create blank Document, Spreadsheet, or Presentation from the start screen
Recent files — quick reopen list synced across editor windows
Separate editor windows — each file opens in its own frameless window
Fully local — conversion via x2t WASM, no document server required

Installation

Download and install TINKER from https://tinker.liriliri.io/, then run npm i -g tinker-office.

Usage

Open the plugin and use New to create a blank Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file
Click Open… (or drag a file onto the window) to edit an existing document
Recent files appear on the right — click to reopen, or remove items from the list
Edit in the OnlyOffice toolbar; save with the editor’s save action when prompted
Close an editor window with the close button on the title bar
