Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

tiny-queue-task

npm

This library can be used in the NodeJs, Browser and Espruino , but platform need support Promise or async/await only.

Installation

npm install tiny-queue-task

How to use

require the library

const QueueTask = require("tiny-queue-task");

create an tiny queue task

const array=[1,2,3,4,5,6,7....]
const q=new QueueTask(array,{
  process:function (val, index, arr) {
    ...
  }
});
q.run();

Parameters

new TinyQueueTask(array,[options])

array

options

This library support follow options:

  • process: A function that will be called when a process ( Callback(cursorValue, cursorIndex, originalArray) )
  • perror: A function that will be called when on error ( Callback(Error, tryCount, cursorValue, cursorIndex, originalArray) )
  • limit: A number set task max length ( Default: 1 )
  • retry: A number set task retry count ( Default: 0 )

Methods

q.init()

reset internal parameters

q.run([array])

run tasks

if array is defined, reset original array value and run tasks

q.rerun()

call q.init() and q.run([array])

example

simple run :

let q = new QueueTask(array, {
  limit: 5,
  process: function (val, index, arr) {
    return new Promise((r) => {
      // processing
      // ......
      r();
    });
  },
});
q.run();

// or

let q = new QueueTask([], {
  limit: 5,
  process: function (val, index, arr) {
    return new Promise((r) => {
      // processing
      // ......
      r();
    });
  },
});
q.run(array);

normal demo :

I tested it in my espruino board( ESP32 / ESP8266 ). It's OK

let q = new QueueTask(array, {
  limit: 5,
  process: function (val, index, arr) {
    return new Promise((r) => {
      let t = parseInt(Math.random() * 1000) + 400;
      console.log("run ===>", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t);
      setTimeout(() => {
        console.log("end ----", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t);
        r();
      }, t);
    });
  },
});
q.run();

async function :

new QueueTask(array, {
  limit: 5,
  async process(val, index, arr) {
    let t = parseInt(Math.random() * 1000) + 400;
    console.log("run ===>", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t);
    await customProcess(t);
    console.log("end ----", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t);
  },
}).run();

retry :

(new QueueTask(array, {
    limit: 3,
    retry: 3,//<===
    async process(val, index, arr) {
        let t = parseInt(Math.random() * 1000) + 400;
        console.log("run ===>", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t,);
        await waitMs(t);
        throw ("Err ----" + index + ":" + val + " wait(ms):" + t);
    },
    perror: function (err, tryCount, val, index, arr) {
        console.log(err, tryCount, val, index, arr);
    }
})).run();

PromiseArray

(new QueueTask(promiseArray, {
    limit: 5,
    retry: 3,
    async process(promise, index, arr) {
        console.log("run ===>", index, ":", val,);
        let t = await promise();
        console.log("end ----", index, ":", val, " wait(ms)", t);
    },
    perror: function (err, count, val, index, arr) {
        console.log("Err index:", index, err, count, val);
    }
})).run();
