Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

File-based routing plugin for Vue 2

Readme

unplugin-vue2-pages

👋🏻👋🏻 The last life-saver for file-based routing in Vue 2 (Vue Router 3).

Usage

pnpm i -D unplugin-vue2-pages
// vite.config.ts
import pages from 'unplugin-vue2-pages/vite'

export default defineConfig({
  plugins: [
    pages({ /* options */ }),
  ],
})

Example: playground/

// webpack.config.js
import pages from 'unplugin-vue2-pages/webpack'

module.exports = {
  plugins: [
    pages({ /* options */ })
  ]
}

Then import auto-generated routes from this plugin.

/// <reference types="unplugin-vue2-pages/client" />

import { routes } from 'unplugin-vue2-pages/auto-routes'
import VueRouter from 'vue-router'

const router = new VueRouter({ routes })

File-based Routing Convention

File structure:

src/pages/
├── index.vue
├── about.vue
├── posts.[postId].comments.vue
├── [...all].vue
└── users/
    ├── index.vue
    ├── [userId].settings.vue
    └── [...all].vue

Generated routes:

[
  { path: '/', component: () => import('/src/pages/index.vue') },
  { path: '/about', component: () => import('/src/pages/about.vue') },
  { path: '/posts/:postId/comments', component: () => import('/src/pages/posts.[postId].comments.vue') },
  { path: '*', component: () => import('/src/pages/[...all].vue') },
  {
    path: '/users',
    children: [
      { path: '', component: () => import('/src/pages/users/index.vue') },
      { path: ':userId/settings', component: () => import('/src/pages/users/[userId].settings.vue') },
      { path: '*', component: () => import('/src/pages/users/[...all].vue') },
    ]
  },
]
  • static: represents static path → static

  • [dynamic]: represents dynamic path → :dynamic

  • [...catchAll]: represents catch all path → *

  • .: represents path slash → /

  • /: folder represents children path → children: [...]

DefinePage

definePage() is a compile-time macro, you can define extra route config for current page.

<!-- users/[userId].vue -->
<script setup lang="ts">
definePage({
  meta: { auth: true }
})
</script>

Same as unplugin-vue-router: definePage()

For typescript support, add this declaration to tsconfig.json.

{
  "compilerOptions": {
    "types": [
      "unplugin-vue2-pages/global"
    ]
  }
}

Options

/** Plugin options. */
export interface Options {
  /**
   * Dir(s) to scan for page files.
   *
   * @default 'src/pages'
   */
  pages?: string | string[] | PageOptions | PageOptions[]
}

/** Page options. */
export interface PageOptions {
  /**
   * Dir to scan for page files.
   *
   * E.g. 'src/pages'
   */
  dir: string

  /**
   * Base route path for the pages in this dir.
   *
   * @default '/'
   */
  base?: string

  /**
   * Exclude files from this dir, support glob patterns.
   *
   * E.g. 'components/**'
   */
  exclude?: string | string[]

  /**
   * Extend a route before generate.
   */
  extendRoute?: (route: Route) => void
}
