Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

###Empower Your React Native Apps with Usetiful’s Seamless Onboarding and Product Guidance

The Usetiful React Native package brings the power of Usetiful’s user onboarding and engagement tools directly into React Native apps. Designed for those looking to enhance the user experience, Usetiful seamlessly integrates guided tours, including modals, slideouts, and pointers, as well as onboarding flows to help users navigate your app more efficiently.

Installation

npm install usetiful-react-native
yarn add usetiful-react-native

Usage

import { Usetiful } from 'usetiful-react-native';

Wrap Your App with the Usetiful Tag

Note: When using React Navigation, Usetiful must be a child of the NavigationContainer. For Expo projects, you can wrap your main _layout page with Usetiful.

<NavigationContainer>
  <Usetiful token="YOUR_USETIFUL_TOKEN">
    <YourApp />
  </Usetiful>
</NavigationContainer>

Getting Your Usetiful Token

To integrate Usetiful into your app, you’ll need to get your Usetiful Token. Follow these steps to obtain it:

1.	Log in to your Usetiful account.
2.	Navigate to Home --> Install to your site --> r.dataset.token.
3.	Locate r.dataset.token and copy its value.

How to get your Usetiful Token

Create a tour in Usetiful panel

To create a tour, log in to your Usetiful account and navigate to Home → Tour in the menu.

Modals and Slide Outs

Slide-outs and modals are entirely codeless. Simply define them in the Usetiful panel, and they will automatically appear in your target app.

Pointers

To use pointers, you need to add follwoing code to your target elemet. You can choose any key for your element and add it to setPointer function. Then, use your key as a selector in the Usetiful admin.

onLayout={(e) => setPointer('YOUR_KEY', e)}

Example:

import { setPointer } from 'usetiful-react-native';

return (
  <View>
    <View onLayout={(e) => setPointer('YourFirstKey', e)}>
      <Text>First Pointer</Text>
    </View>
    <View onLayout={(e) => setPointer('YourSecondKey', e)}>
      <Text>Second Pointer</Text>
    </View>
    <View onLayout={(e) => setPointer('AnotherKey', e)}>
      <Text>Third Pointer</Text>
    </View>
  </View>
);

Targeting Screens

We support React Navigation version 6 and higher. To target a screen, add the screen name as the value in the URL contains condition.

Note: If your target screen is a child within a nested stack (default screen), you need to specify both the parent and child screen names. Separate them with “or” (as shown in the image) to account for different ways the screen might be navigated to.
