Vacklogen MCP Server
Vacklogen MCP Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows AI assistants (like Claude) to directly interact with your Vacklogen Product Backlogs (PBIs).
Features
- Browse Backlogs: Let AI retrieve a list of projects or PBIs.
- Read Details: AI can understand Acceptance Criteria and implementation hints to help you code better.
- Update Status: AI can automatically update PBI status (e.g., to "done") after completing an implementation.
- Create PBIs: Generate new PBI stubs directly from your conversation with the AI.
Setup
1. Get your API Key
Go to the Settings page in your Vacklogen application and generate a VACKLOGEN_API_KEY.
2. Configure Environment Variables
The server requires the following environment variable:
VACKLOGEN_API_KEY: The API key you generated above.
3. Usage with AI IDE / Assistants (Claude, Cursor, etc.)
Add the following configuration to your MCP-compatible client settings (such as Claude Desktop or Cursor):
{
"mcpServers": {
"vacklogen": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "vacklogen-mcp@latest"],
"env": {
"VACKLOGEN_API_KEY": "YOUR_API_KEY_HERE",
"NODE_ENV": "production"
}
}
}
