Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

validatable-controls

A set of react components that can be easily validated according to custom rules.

each control in this library validates itself when:

  • the component is mounted (componentDidMount)
  • when the component's value change
  • on blur

error messages will only display after a blur or if the parent form was submitted.

usage

general

the containing component needs to implement some logic in order to make the most out of the controls:

  • pass a submitted prop to the control
  • implement an onValidityChanged function to store the validity status of all the controls and pass it as a prop to the control

validation rules

validation rules are functions passed as props in an array. the validation function is invoked on componentDidMount, onBlur and onChange and is invoked with control's value as a parameter. the validation function should return an error text if the validation did not pass or an empty string if it did. example:
