Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

What is viya

viya is a tool to quickly create aliases to often-visited folders.

How to use viya

  1. install viya with npm i -g viya.
  2. After installed, type viya from a folder you'd like to be able to travel to easily;
  3. You'll be prompted for an alias; this is the alias you will be able to use to jump to this folder from anywhere;
  4. To try it, go to another folder, then just type in the alias you entered in the previous step. It should take you to the folder you initiated viya from

How does viya work

It's a simple bash script that writes aliases to your bash or zsh profile.
