Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Vmake Labs CLI

Readme

Vmake Labs CLI

Create video content, enhance images and videos, remove text or watermarks, add dynamic captions, and generate montages from the terminal.

Install and start

Requires Node.js 20.3 or later. The CLI installs its platform-specific ffprobe through npm dependencies; no separate FFmpeg installation is needed.

npm install -g --include=optional [email protected] --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/
vmake chat -p 'Plan a short promotional video for a coffee brand.'
vmake --help

Use vmake <command> --help for parameters. Media commands include tool, subtitle, and mixed-cut. This package targets vmake / release. Pass CLI_ENV=pre|beta|release to each process. Credentials, identity and configuration directories use Vmake CLI_* variables; credentials are stored under ~/.vmake/profiles/<env>/. The upload SDK is embedded. Region selection has been removed.

Use vmake auth login with your Vmake account. For pre-release verification, pass CLI_ENV=pre to login, status checks, and business commands with the same configuration directory. Verify each environment and release artifact independently; historical service checks do not certify a new package. On failure, report the actual error without switching applications or accounts.

Preflight and execution

Run vmake contracts to inspect input contracts. Media commands support --params-file <path> --validate-only --json for local validation without authentication, uploads, or submission. Do not combine a parameter file with explicit business flags. Remove --validate-only for execution.

Montage accepts 1–20 images, videos, or mixed assets. Analyze first, present the actual ready Brief, obtain confirmation, then generate a talking or material video.

Output

Business stdout contains one JSON value per line, preserving complete HTTP responses or SSE events and unknown fields. Local diagnostics use stderr with source:"cli"; read the streams separately. Exit code 0 can mean acceptance, a snapshot, or detach. Confirm an explicit successful terminal state and output files before reporting completion. The full protocol and migration reference lives in the source repository at docs/cli-technical-design.md.
