CLI to install vn-finance-mentor plugin for AI coding assistants.

Supports Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.

Install

From source

Build the installer from this directory with Node.js 20+:

npm ci
npm run build

Run it from the project where you want to install VN Finance Mentor:

node /absolute/path/to/vn-finance-mentor/cli/dist/index.js init --ai codex-plugin

The Python library must be installed in the environment used by your assistant. See the source installation guide for the Python setup and compatibility notes.

From npm

These commands require publication of the renamed vn-finance-mentor-cli package:

What Gets Installed

The platform templates define each assistant's installation layout. The VN Finance Mentor skill bundles the analysis workflows, references, and Python scripts.

codex installs the standalone skill to .agents/skills/vn-finance-mentor/. codex-plugin creates .codex/plugins/vn-finance-mentor/ with a .codex-plugin/plugin.json manifest and bundled skill, then adds it to .agents/plugins/marketplace.json. Existing marketplace metadata and other plugins are preserved; an existing entry named vn-finance-mentor is replaced.

From the target project, register the generated marketplace:

codex plugin marketplace add .
codex plugin marketplace list

Restart the ChatGPT desktop app and install VN Finance Mentor from that marketplace in the Plugins Directory. If the project already has a marketplace, choose its existing display name.

The repository itself also provides a Codex marketplace pointing to cli/assets/. See the official marketplace format.

Claude Code also receives the bundled specialist agents. Codex uses role prompts or sequential analysis as described in the skill.

Prerequisites

pip install vn-finance-mentor

Use Python 3.12 for the verified setup. For development, follow the source installation guide. Python imports remain claude_finance_kit.

Commands

Uninstall

For a source build, run this from the target project and confirm the prompt:

node /absolute/path/to/vn-finance-mentor/cli/dist/index.js uninstall --ai codex-plugin

For the published CLI:

npx vn-finance-mentor-cli uninstall --ai codex

Uninstalling codex-plugin removes its generated plugin folder and matching marketplace entry while retaining other entries and the marketplace file. For a plugin installed through the Plugins Directory, manage its installation there; the CLI uninstall command applies to files generated by this installer.
