Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

vue-breathing-colors

v0.0.7

Published

Vue directive for breathing colors transition.

Readme

vue-breathing-colors

Vue Breathing Colors is a vue directive used to change background color of any component in a "breathing like" manner.

Demo

Installation

NPM

npm install vue-breathing-colors --save

Yarn

yarn add vue-breathing-colors

CDN

<script scr="https://unpkg.com/vue-breathing-colors@<VERSION>/dist/vue-breathing-colors.js">

Usage

import Vue from 'vue';
import BreathingColors from 'vue-breathing-colors';

Vue.use(BreathingColors);
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <title>Breathing Colors</title>
  <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/vue/2.4.4/vue.js"></script>
  <script src="https://unpkg.com/vue-breathing-colors@<VERSION>/dist/vue-breathing-colors.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
  <div id="app"></div>
  <script>
    Vue.use(BreathingColors.default);
    var vm = new Vue({
      el: '#app'
    });
  </script>
</body>
</html>

Sample

Auto

The colors will change from array index 0 to array index n and back to 0 again.

html

<div v-breathing-colors="sample"></div>

js

export default {
  data() {
    return {
      sample: {
        colors: ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
        interval: 3000,
        transition: {
          duration: 1000
        }
      }
    }
  }
}

API

The main data needed by the directive is an object with 3 required fields colors:Array, intervale:Number, transition:[Object, duration:Number].

| Object | Type | Decription | | ------ | ---- | ---------- | | colors | Array | Array of string colors. E.g. #fff, #000000, red, rgb(), rgba(). | interval | Number (millis) | Interval indicates how often the color should change. | | transition.duration | Number (millis) | The duration of transition timing. |

Modifiers

There 2 modifiers for this version, the hover and random.

| Modifier | Usage | Description | | -------- | ----- | ----------- | | random | v-breathing-colors.random | Using the random modifier will... you know, change the colors in random. | | hover | v-breathing-colors.hover | Unlike the auto, hover will disrespect the inverval from the data object. The color will change in the auto order 0,1,2,3,etc.. but only when the onmouseover event was triggered. |

Tips

  1. Modifiers can be combibed like v-breathing-colors.random.hover.
  2. For best result, always keep in mind that the interval should always be greater of at least 200% than the transition.duration. Say, the transition.duration is 1000, the minimum interval should be at least 2000.

More coming soon

More modifiers will be added for future versions.
