Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Vue plugin - simple GraphQL client for query, mutation and subscriptions support.

Software License

work in progress

Installation

yarn add vue-mini-graphql-client

Or

npm install --save vue-mini-graphql-client

Register

import graphPlugin from 'vue-mini-graphql-client';

const token = GetToken(); //just for example

//Client configuration
const clientConfig = {
                	uri: 'http://endpoint.com', // GraphQL endpoint
                 	socket: 'ws://endpoint.com', // GraphQL endpoint for subscriptions
                  	headers: {
                  		authorization: token || '',
                  		// ... all needed headers
                   	},
               	    options: {},
               	    socketOptions: {},
};

Vue.use(graphPlugin, clientConfig);

Usage

Plugin accepts query as simple string and also as AST document( possible to use graphql-tag to import queries), Fragments also supported. Two methods is used to fetch data : this.$graph.query(query, variables) for Query and this.$graph.mutation(query, variables) for Mutation

Query
const dice = 3;
const sides = 6;
const queryString = `query RollDice($dice: Int!, $sides: Int) {
  rollDice(numDice: $dice, numSides: $sides)
}`;

	async getData() {
                const result = await this.$graph.query(queryString, { dice, sides });
                console.log(result);
	}
Example
import {myQuerry} from '/all_my_queries'; // if graphql-tag is used
export default {
	data() {
		return {
            myData:''
            };
    },
mounted(){
	this.getData();
},
methods:{
	async getData() {
                const result = await this.$graph.query(myQuerry, {input:{myVars:'someValue'}});
                console.log(result);
                this.myData = result.data.myQuerry;
	}
},

}
Mutation
	async getData() {
                const result = await this.$graph.mutation(mutation, mutationVars);
                console.log(result);
	}

Subcriptions

If in clientConfig GraphQL endpoint for subscriptions is set(socket) possible to use subscription in components with this.graphWS.subscribe(query, variables = {}, operationName = '', callback)

Example
import { onTest } from '/subscriptions.gql';

//in component
mounted() {
	    //Subscribe onTest with this.testing callback
	    this.myEvent = this.$graphWS.subscribe(onTest, {}, 'onTest', this.testing);
},
methods:{
	//Callback that will be fired onTest subscription
	testing(data){
		console.log(data); // subscription payload
	}
},
beforeDestroy() {
	    //Unsubscribe when component destroyed
		this.$graphWS.unsubscribe(this.myEvent);
},

Usage in Vuex

Query and Mutations

const client = this._vm.$graph;
client.query(query, variables)

Subscriptions

import { onTest } from '/subscriptions.gql';

export const actions = {
	async subscribe({ state, commit }) {
		const client = this._vm.$graphWS;
		client.subscribe(onTest, {}, 'onTest', (data) => {
			console.log('Received data', data);
		});
}
