Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

vue-morph

Adds support for breakpoint dependent modules

Vue config

Load the plugin in your entrypoint

import MorphPlugin from 'vue-morph';

Vue.use(MorphPlugin, {
        order: ['xs', 'sm', 'md', 'lg', 'xl'],
        breakpoints: {
            xs: [0, 543],
            sm: [544, 767],
            md: [768, 991],
            lg: [992, 1280],
            xl: [1280],
        }
    });

This will then register a new component called vue-morph

Component Usage

<vue-morph
    default-component="dyn-footer-category"
    :components="{'<=sm': 'dyn-accordion-item'}"
    >
    ...
</vue-morph>

Props

  • defaultComponent - Defines the default component that will be rendered
  • components - Defines which component should be rendered on which breakpoint
  • slots - If your modules required slots, you have to add them here
  • All other properties will be directly bound to the subcomponent. So properties that are required by a subcomponent, can be added to the morph component and the bound to the child

Slots

Slots are a bit tricky here. Since we get in trouble adding the same slotnames in the morph component as in the component you want to render, we have a bit of work to do here.

First, all the slots have to be available with the same name for every possible component within the components config.

After setting the slots on the morph component, you can can add the slots in the component. The slots available in the morph component are prefixed with morph- (In order to avoid naming conflicts)

Exmaple

<vue-morph
        default-component="dyn-footer-category"
        :slots="['title', 'content']"
        :components="{'<=sm': 'dyn-accordion-item'}"
>
    <h4 slot="morph-title">Foo</h4>
    <ul slot="morph-content">
        <li>Hello</li>
        <li>World</li>
    </ul>
</vue-morph>

Component: dyn-footer-category.vue

<template>
    <div class="footer-category">
        <slot name="title"/>
        <slot name="content"/>
    </div>
</template>

Listeners

update

When you fire an update event to the component, the breakpoint will be recalculated

Events

updated is fired, as soon as the component changes
