Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

vuex-common-mutations

It's a vuex mutations generator which we use commonly to make changes in state like set a state value, push, update, delete a item in an array, reset the whole state. Using this package you don't have to write any mutations to make changes in state it has all the neccessary mutations to update state.

Install

$ npm install vuex-common-mutations

or with yarn

$ yarn add vuex-common-mutations

Usage

import { createMutations } from 'vuex-common-mutations'

const initialState = () => ({
  loading: false,
  counter: 0,
  user: {
    name: null
  }
})

const mutations = {
  ...createMutations('SET')
  // your other mutations
}
  commit('SET', { loading: true })
  commit('SET', { counter: c => c + 1 })
  commit('SET', { 'user.name': 'John Doe' })

or in single object

  commit('SET', {
    loading: true,
    counter: c => c + 1,
    'user.name': 'John Doe'
  })

Mutations Types

There is the list of mutation types

SET - Set or change something to the state.
RESET - Reset the current state to initial state.
PUSH - Push items in an array.
UNSHIFT - Unshift items in an array.
UPDATE - Replace an array item with specified item.
DELETE - Delete an array item with specified id or any identifier.

Lets breakdown each of these. Consider this is our store.

import { createMutations } from 'vuex-common-mutations'

const initialState = () => ({
  users: {
    page: 1,
    perPage: 20,
    data: [
      {
        id: 1,
        name: 'John doe',
        email: '[email protected]'
      },
      {
        id: 2,
        name: 'David Davis',
        email: null
      }
    ],
  },
  books: [
    {
      id: 1,
      name: 'Book Name'
    }
  ]
})
const mutations = {
  ...createMutations('SET', 'RESET', 'PUSH', 'UNSHIFT', 'UPDATE', 'DELETE')
  // your other mutations
}

RESET

commit('RESET', initialState())

PUSH and UNSHIFT

let newUser = {
  id: 3,
  name: 'Thomas Rivers',
  email: '[email protected]'
}

commit('PUSH', ['users.data', newUser])

// or like this
commit('PUSH', {
  'user.data': newUser
})

// or multiple item at once
commit('PUSH', {
  'user.data': [newUser, anotherUser]
})

// or (push or unshift) to multiple array at once
commit('PUSH', {
  'books': newBook,
  'user.data': [newUser, anotherUser],
})

UPDATE

commit('UPDATE', ['users.data', newUser, /* id - optional parameter to match by */])
