Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

wallet-shim

v0.1.2

Published

Fake EIP-1193 (MetaMask-compatible) provider for dApp browser automation. Injects a connected wallet, dry-runs transactions.

Readme

wallet-shim

npm version CI License: MIT node Agent skill

Fake EIP-1193 / EIP-6963 provider (MetaMask-compatible) for dApp browser automation. Injects a "connected" wallet, signs with a throwaway key or fakes signatures for an arbitrary address, and dry-runs transactions (records them, returns a hash and a synthesized receipt, never broadcasts).

Install as an agent skill

npx skills add nft-syou/wallet-shim # picks the agents you have installed
npx skills add nft-syou/wallet-shim -a claude-code -y

The skill's instructions call the CLI through npm, so nothing else needs installing:

npx wallet-shim@latest --generate-key --chain sepolia --out shim.out.js
npx wallet-shim@latest --address 0xYourAddress --chain mainnet --out shim.out.js

The skill lives in skills/wallet-shim/ (SKILL.md + injection recipes only, 7 files); the CLI and bundle come from the npm package. Without npm access, clone this repo and run node bin/wallet-shim.mjs directly.

Develop

npm install
npm run build # dist/shim.js
node bin/wallet-shim.mjs --generate-key --chain sepolia --out shim.out.js
npx agent-browser open --init-script shim.out.js https://app.example.com

Try it against the bundled fixture dApp end-to-end:

npm run fixture # separate terminal: builds and serves test/fixture on :3000
node bin/wallet-shim.mjs --generate-key --chain sepolia --out .wallet-shim/shim.out.js
npm run e2e # drives the fixture with puppeteer-core, asserts connect/sign/send/receipt
  • Skill instructions: skills/wallet-shim/SKILL.md
  • Agent skill (instructions + injection recipes): skills/wallet-shim/
  • Design: docs/superpowers/specs/2026-09-18-wallet-shim-design.md

Verified

  • Unit tests: npm test (vitest) covers the router, signing, chains, CLI and dist bundle.
  • E2E: npm run e2e drives the bundled fixture dApp with puppeteer-core against the Chrome that agent-browser install downloads, exercising both load-before (evaluateOnNewDocument) and load-after (page.evaluate) injection.
  • Orca built-in browser: load-after injection via orca eval + <script src> verified manually against the fixture (see skills/wallet-shim/recipes/orca-cli.md).

Never use real private keys with this tool. See SECURITY.md for the threat model.
