web-search-make-markdown

An Agent skill package that collects material from the web and generates illustrated Markdown documents.

• All images are real images from web search results / the original web page — AI generation is forbidden
• Images are downloaded and saved as local files (e.g. in an imgs/ directory) and referenced in Markdown via relative paths — keeping documents lightweight, fast to load, and images reusable (for PDFs, slide decks, etc.)
• Every image is attributed to its source URL, and an "Image sources" list is included at the end of the document

Script usage

# The bin command is available after installation
image-to-local "<image-url>" "imgs" "01-topic.jpg" "caption text" >> output.md

• Arguments: <url|path> <output-dir> [filename] [alt-text]
• If no filename is given, one is generated automatically (img_<timestamp>_<pid>.<ext detected from MIME>)
• MIME type is detected automatically (the file command is preferred; only image/* is accepted)
• Not an image / download failed → exits with code 1 and an error message
• Warns when an image is >3MB; compress it first with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i in.jpg -vf "scale='min(1600,iw)':-2" -q:v 5 out.jpg

Delivery tips

Keep the document and the imgs/ directory at the same level, and package them together (zip) when distributing.
