Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

webhelper-publish

v2.0.0

Published

Install and run the Travix Webhelper Chrome Web Store publishing skill.

Travix Webhelper publishing skill

Install the Webhelper-only agent skill:

npx webhelper-publish install --codex

Installs into ~/.agents/skills/chrome-extension-publish; --codex adds a Codex discovery link. Default invocation also installs the skill. Existing identical files are left alone; changed files require --force, which preserves the previous directory as a backup. Use --dir /absolute/skill-directory for another installation location.

Installation requires Node 20+. Running the extension release workflow requires Python 3.10+, macOS/Linux, Node 24 and a local Travix.WebHelper checkout. It cannot publish another extension. The target Chrome Web Store ID is fixed to jljohockjkeciohfagfdlcndghhnknpk.

npx webhelper-publish doctor --repo /path/to/travix.webhelper
npx webhelper-publish prepare --repo /path/to/travix.webhelper --version 2.2.61
npx webhelper-publish release --repo /path/to/travix.webhelper --version 2.2.61

prepare performs a local build only. release builds, uploads and submits the Chrome extension. ship resumes upload/submission of a verified prepared package; status reports V2 submitted/published revisions and resumes acknowledged asynchronous uploads without re-uploading. Other commands: verify, upload, publish.

Chrome Web Store operations require your own CWS_CLIENT_ID, CWS_CLIENT_SECRET , CWS_REFRESH_TOKEN and CWS_PUBLISHER_ID environment variables (Publisher > Settings in the developer dashboard). No credentials, extension build outputs or local release state are included in this npm package. The package has no dependencies or install lifecycle hooks.

Ask your agent to use $chrome-extension-publish after installation. See the bundled skill/SKILL.md for recovery and authorization boundaries.

Version 2 uses Chrome Web Store V2 exclusively. Set CWS_PUBLISHER_ID before remote operations. Builds force production settings; HTTP failures retain sanitized reasons. No Git tags are created automatically.
