Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

🎨 webpix is a simple, fast, and efficient command-line tool for compressing images to WebP or JPEG using Sharp.

Whether you're prepping assets for your website, reducing file sizes for performance, or simply converting formats, webpix gives you a reliable one-command solution.

📦 Installation

npm install -g webpix-cli

Or run directly from your project:

git clone https://github.com/happyuser/webpix-cli.git
cd webpix-cli
npm install
node webpix.js ./path-to-images

🚀 Usage

Basic usage

webpix ./my-images

This will:

  • Convert all .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tiff files in ./my-images
  • Resize to max-width 1600px
  • Compress to WebP format
  • Output to ./exported

Convert a single file

webpix photo.jpg

Use custom options

webpix --jpeg --quality 80 --max-width 1200 ./photos
