Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Wordley

If you're in a bind Wordley will help you solve Wordle, or any Wordle-like puzzle where the word length isn't necessarily 5 letters.

API

wordley(string, string, string, string, string, string)

var wordley = require('wordley');

Notes

Wordley will help you solve Wordle or any Wordle-like puzzle if you're in a bind. It's a variadic function that takes n strings, the first (n-1) representing the (n-1) respective letters in the word and the nth as a place to discard used words. Make your first guess on Wordle, or other Wordle-like puzzle where the word length isn't necessarily 5 letters, and in Wordley use an uppercase letter in any of positions 1 - (n-1) to confirm that letter at that position, or in the case of multiple uppercase entires to indicate that one of those entries is indeed at that position, a lowercase letter or letters in any of positions 1 - (n-1) to confirm that letter or letters as being in the word but not at that position, unless the lowercase letter is followed by a question mark which indicates that letter is not at that position but that it's unknown whether or not it's in the word, and position n as a discard sequence of used words. If a word discarded in position n is lowercase the word and all words containing its comprising letters are removed from options, unless those letters are otherwise mentioned in positions 1 - (n-1), and if uppercase only that word and not other words containing its comprising letters will be removed from options. A position with no entry must be signified with an empty string. Wordley has been extended in these ways to help solve many non Wordle-like puzzles, e.g. crosswords and even clueless crosswords, with added functionality for indicating when only a word and not words containing its comprising letters should be removed from options, when a position could be one of several letters by adding more than one capital letter at that position, when a position is known not to be a letter without asserting the letter must exist elsewhere in the word, or when several positions are unknown but known to share the same letter by tagging those positions with an arbitrary common numeric value. Numeric tags can thus be used to indicate shared letters, or the opposite, to assert that letters are not shared.

Installation

With npm do

$ npm install wordley
