worthless-mcp
Zero-Python install wrapper for the Worthless MCP server. Thin Node.js shim so AI editors can auto-install Worthless's MCP tools from their MCP config without requiring Python on the host. Verified on Claude Code (.mcp.json) and Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json — shows worthless with its 4 tools); Windsurf supports MCP via its own config path but is unverified.
Install
Add to your project's .mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"worthless": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "worthless-mcp"]
}
}
}Restart your editor. On first launch the wrapper:
- Finds or installs
uv(one-time, ~5 s). - Runs
uvx worthless[mcp]==<pinned-version> mcp— the Python env is cached byuvx, so subsequent starts are instant. - Streams MCP protocol over stdio to the editor.
Cold start on a fresh Node-only machine: < 30 s.
Requirements
- Node.js ≥ 18
- Network access on first run (to fetch
uvand the Python package) - macOS, Linux, or Windows
