Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Never stop coding. Auto-route to FREE & cheap AI models with smart fallback.

🚀 Quick Start💡 Features📖 Setup🌐 Website

🇻🇳 Tiếng Việt🇨🇳 中文🇯🇵 日本語

🤔 Why XLab Router?

Stop wasting money and hitting limits:

  • ❌ Subscription quota expires unused every month
  • ❌ Rate limits stop you mid-coding
  • ❌ Expensive APIs ($20-50/month per provider)
  • ❌ Manual switching between providers

XLab Router solves this:

  • Maximize subscriptions - Track quota, use every bit before reset
  • Auto fallback - Subscription → Cheap → Free, zero downtime
  • Multi-account - Round-robin between accounts per provider
  • Universal - Works with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Cline, any CLI tool

🔄 How It Works

┌─────────────┐
│ Your CLI │ (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenClaw, Cursor, Cline...)
│ Tool │
└──────┬──────┘
       │ http://localhost:1212/v1
       ↓
┌─────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ XLab Router (Smart Router) │
│ • Format translation (OpenAI ↔ Claude) │
│ • Quota tracking │
│ • Auto token refresh │
└──────┬──────────────────────────────────┘
       │
├─→ [Tier 1: SUBSCRIPTION] Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI
       │ ↓ quota exhausted
       ├─→ [Tier 2: CHEAP] GLM ($0.6/1M), MiniMax ($0.2/1M)
       │ ↓ budget limit
└─→ [Tier 3: FREE] iFlow, Qwen, Kiro (unlimited)

Result: Never stop coding, minimal cost

🚀 Quick Start

1. Install and run:

Global install (recommended if you want the xlabrouter command everywhere):

npm install -g xlabrouter
xlabrouter
# optional alias:
# xrouter

Run without global install:

npx xlabrouter
# optional alias:
# npx xrouter

Local project install:

npm install xlabrouter
npx xlabrouter
# or: npx xrouter
# or: ./node_modules/.bin/xlabrouter

XLab Router starts the Web UI in the current terminal by default. Open the dashboard at http://localhost:1212. Use xlabrouter --tray if you want the background/system tray mode. You can also use the shorter alias xrouter if you prefer.

2. Connect a FREE provider (no signup needed):

Dashboard → Providers → Connect Claude Code or Antigravity → OAuth login → Done!

3. Use in your CLI tool:

Claude Code/Codex/Gemini CLI/OpenClaw/Cursor/Cline Settings:
  Endpoint: http://localhost:1212/v1
  API Key: [copy from dashboard]
  Model: if/kimi-k2-thinking

That's it! Start coding with FREE AI models.
