Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Zeyon

NOTE: As of 10/2/24, this project is not ready for standalone use. It is the underlying architecture for another project currently being built, and is in the process of being abtracted for use across many other projects. If this note is still here, then the library is probably not yet ready for general use.

Zeyon is a TypeScript-based framework designed to streamline the development of dynamic, data-driven web applications. It provides a robust and type-safe MVC architecture, enabling developers to build scalable and maintainable applications in Typescript, with ease.

Key Features

Strong Typing with TypeScript: Leverage TypeScript's static typing to catch errors early and enhance code reliability across models, collections, and views. Model-View Architecture: Emphasizes a clear separation of concerns, facilitating organized code and easier maintenance. Event-Driven Design: Built on an event-driven architecture using emitters, enabling reactive and responsive user interfaces. Component-Based Development: Includes a rich set of customizable components like lists, carousels, and pickers. Data Binding and Templates: Integrates with Handlebars templates for dynamic rendering and data binding. Advanced Data Management: Features like filtered collection harnesses allow for sophisticated data manipulation and filtering within collections. Extensibility: Designed to be modular, allowing developers to add or replace components and extend functionality as needed.

Upcoming Modules

Zeyon is designed to be extended with additional modules that enhance its capabilities:

Client-side

  • UI Components: A set of commonly used components such as a buttons, text inputs, toggle switchs, and dialog popups.
  • Notifications: Implement real-time notifications within your application.
  • Tips: Support for dynamically generated and responsive tips (commonly and tragically referred to as "tooltips").
  • Caching: Automatic client-side caching of all state related data, as well as automatic rehydration on refresh.
  • Dynamic Module Loading: a server-side component for dynamic module loading and currently requires a node environment running on the server.

Server-side

  • ZeyonAPI: A server-side library optimized to work seamlessly with Zeyon, providing a PostgreSQL integration and API services.
  • Login/Session Management: Full support for creating new user-accounts, along with session management using PassportJS.
  • Logging: Comprehensive application logging that includes an administrative panel to review logs
  • Payments Portal: Allow for the payments through your platform in a clean an unobtrusive way. Integrates with multiple third-party gateways.

Installation

Zeyon is available as an npm package:

npm install zeyon
