zhconvert-mcp

MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for ZhConvert — Simplified ↔ Traditional Chinese conversion for Claude Desktop, Claude Code and other MCP clients. Free, by Dawn Studio.

Powered by @dawn-studio/zh-convert: all 14 OpenCC preset configs (regional Taiwan / Hong Kong wording and phrases included) plus a lightweight tongwen engine. Conversion runs locally — your text never leaves your machine. Protected words are never altered (e.g. 占卜 stays 占卜， never 佔卜）, and non-Chinese lines pass through untouched.

convert_text

OpenCC configs: s2t, t2s, s2tw, tw2s, s2hk, hk2s, s2twp, tw2sp, t2tw, tw2t, t2hk, hk2t, s2hkp, hk2sp — call list_configs for the direction and description of each. Locales: cn = Simplified (Mainland), t = Traditional (OpenCC standard), tw/twp = Traditional (Taiwan; twp with Taiwan phrases), hk/hkp = Traditional (Hong Kong; hkp with Hong Kong phrases).

Examples:

Test

npm test        # or: node smoke-test.mjs

Drives the server over stdio (initialize → tools/list → tools/call) and asserts the conversion cases above, the 占卜 protection, and that list_configs returns all 14 configs.
